As part of Reentry Week 2023, ARCH hosted a day of advocacy at the Ohio State Statehouse. We were so excited to share the foundation of creating meaningful lasting changes to the American justice system.
As part of this event, Representative Latyna M. Humphrey and Representative Dontavius L. Jarrells, presented ARCH with an official tribute on its recognition of National Reentry Week.
"On behalf of the members of the House of Representatives of he 135th General Assembly of Ohio, we are please to pay tribute to Accompanying Returning Citizens with Hope on its recognition of National Reentry Week, April 26 - 30, 2023.
Organizations such as ARCH have done important work to help formerly incarcerated individually navigate numerous challenges as they transition back into the world, and as this endeavor observes National Reentry Week, we applaud its efforts to assist one of our most overlooked populations. Personal history should not exclude an individual their access to fundamental rights like public benefits and the ability to vote, and we look forward to a more inclusive society.
As all those associate with ARCH undertake efforts to celebrate the mission of National Reentry Week, we commend these fine and diligent ambassadors of our state. Through their kindness and initiative, they are sure to inspire others to unite and create a community built on support and second chances, and we hope to one day live in an Ohio that is welcoming to those who have already paid so much.
Thus, it is with great pride that we salute Accompanying Returning Citizens with Hope on its work during National Reentry Week and look to the future with optimism."
