We feel there is no better time than in National Second Chance Month to educate on the practical actions we can take to decrease the collateral consequences justice involved people face.
ARCH's Legislative Luncheon will focus on reentry and workforce issues, and will offer education, dialogue, and an opportunity to meet with lawmakers to advocate for the needs of our community. Participants will engage in timely conversations related to pending legislation and critical issues relevant to justice impacted and returning citizens in our state.
Some of the bills that will be discussed include:
- SB 198: "Provide inmates with state ID cards, education documentation, workforce readiness services," (Sponsored by Senators Manning and Lang)

- SB 37: "Make changes to the laws governing driver's license suspensions for certain drug offenses and failure to pay child support and to the laws governing penalties for failure to provide proof of financial responsibility," (Sponsored by Senators Blessing and Ingram).
This event will provide an invaluable opportunity for reentry professionals, formerly incarcerated leaders, & Ohio stakeholders Active in workforce development with the reentry population to come together for discussion, networking, and dialogue with legislative staffers and members on pending legislation.
